South Florida Wildlife Center
I have volunteered there for 4 weeks now, usually do the same thing. My first day there I made food for squirrels and possums, second day I cleaned animal carriers (my least favorite day), third day I cleaned a duck habitat and made possum food and this week I cleaned a big duck habitat and the shore bird habitat. It’s a lot of cleaning and stuff but generally I like it I really want to get into the wildlife ward and work with the veterinarians but that takes time and I am willing to be patient. :)
Last Weekend/Tomorrow
Last weekend I went to St. Augustine and while I was there I visited the St. Augustine Wild Reserve. It was such an incredible experience! We got to see a lions, tigers, leopards, lynxes, panthers, foxes, porcupine, wolves, and some other smaller animals as well. The best part was that we got to see them during their feedings. It was very interesting to see the way each of them reacted to their food being brought in. Some tigers pounced on it immediately and others kind of walked around it and just relaxed. The male lion hid his lunch in a small hut and we all had to leave while he ate because if not it would have been a challenge to him. At the end of the tour we got a cd with pictures of the animals I loved the place.
Also, tomorrow is my first day volunteering at the Humane Society Wildlife Center. I am very excited and nervous but mostly excited. It’s gonna be a great summer :D
War Horse
Just got back from watching War Horse, I must say it was a beautiful movie. I was in tears at the end, such a nice story, fantastic cinematography. I loved it can’t wait for it to come out on DVD definitely going to buy it :)
